Butterflies in the Garden is a wonderfully informative book, which teaches us how to lure butterflies to our garden As a non native English speaker, I must confess I have learnt many flower names while reading this book The illustrations could not bebeautiful Lots of pastel illustrations of butterflies landing and feeding on their favorite flowers plants Information included about providing a puddling space for butterflies as well as planting flowers that butterflies love. Educational, yes, but also a very pretty and enjoyable book I appreciated learning all about different types of butterflies and about how to attract them to my garden Don t think Code Enforcement would like the idea of leaving a corner of my yard overgrown with weeds, but that s another issue altogether This is a great book to read with kiddos anyway, but especially if you follow it up by taking some of the suggestions in the book. First, this is an information book, with details about many butterflies and the many plants that draw them in In fact, it is both about the insects themselves and the specific plants that attract them It is also a beautiful book and invites readers to create garden environments that will attract and nourish many of these always moving paintings. Butterflies in the Garden is an informational text about butterflies It is wonderfully illustrated and goes into great detail about different types of butterflies and the process of going from a caterpillar to a butterfly I would recommend this book to any student interested in learningabout butterflies or insects in general It is extremely informational in providing the student with information regarding the process a caterpillar goes through in order to become a butterfly.In my future Butterflies in the Garden is an informational text about butterflies It is wonderfully illustrated and goes into great detail about different types of butterflies and the process of going from a caterpillar to a butterfly I would recommend this book to any student interested in learningabout butterflies or insects in general It is extremely informational in providing the student with information regarding the process a caterpillar goes through in order to become a butterfly.In my future classroom I would use this for a student on around a 2nd to 3rd grade reading level Although I want to teach in the upper grades I know that my students will be on an array of different reading levels As a result of this I would provide my students with the opportunity to pick an animal from a group of animals I provide them with I would then allow them to choose from a collection of informational texts I would provide this book as an option for some students to choose to use From the informational text that they have chosen, I would have them read the text and then draw an illustration of the animal they chose Once they had drawn an illustration, I would have the student write about the animal They would write about the animals habitat, what it eats, its life span etc After they had drawn a picture and written a paper, I would have them share with the class what they discovered about the animal and I would make a collage of all of the different animals they drew and put it on the wall This book is very educational on the different types of flowers and how they revolve around and involve the different types of butterflies. This is a beautifully illustrated book of butterflies and flowers Very informative The author illustrates the best flowers to grow in your garden to attract flutterbies Very colorful and a great book for a child or adult who wants to enjoy one of the most beautful insects of nature, truly gifts from God.
