I can t tell you how much I enjoyed this mystery I can hardly wait to read the others in the series, and I have already told my mom that she has to read this book next This is the kind of mystery book that is somewhat reminiscent of Miss Marple and Rear Window Put all that together with living out in the country, a nosy neighbor, and a curious dog, and you have the things that contribute to an amazing mystery book This is definitely a cozy, clean mystery No sex nor profanity of any kind It I can t tell you how much I enjoyed this mystery I can hardly wait to read the others in the series, and I have already told my mom that she has to read this book next This is the kind of mystery book that is somewhat reminiscent of Miss Marple and Rear Window Put all that together with living out in the country, a nosy neighbor, and a curious dog, and you have the things that contribute to an amazing mystery book This is definitely a cozy, clean mystery No sex nor profanity of any kind It is suitable for all ages but will probably resonatewith mature adults do I qualify to be in that group What I loved best about the mystery was that just when you thought you might have it solved, the author throws in another twist that you may not have seen coming I was proud of myself for figuring out much of the mystery, but the author still managed to surprise me onthan one occasion I found myself so in tune with the characters that there were times I was glad no one else was around I tend to get vocally involved with stories.I also appreciated the fact that God plays a central role in the story There were several strong messages in the book concerning spiritual things without being preachy It s good to know that God even cares about solving a mystery I ve never seen characters in a mystery turn to God for guidance.I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review I was not financially compensated, and all opinions are 100 percent mine Good enough mystery, but the main character is a bit too daring you want to slap her every 20 pages for doing things she should know better than to do. I really enjoyed this story about a retired married woman who finds herself playing detective The writing was strong and the story well thought out There is one mention of the married couple making love and that is all that is said about it There is also some mention of some things that younger readers might find disturbing, but if you watch any murder mystery shows, this book will probably feel tame.Looking forward to readingby this author. I really enjoyed this cozy little mystery Christine definitely has a wild imagination and comes up with some of the most uncanny ideas, least of which is spying on her neighbor Her curious nature and witty comments keep you giggling throughout the book and have you wondering what else she can get herself into I love the author s writing style and can t wait to see what happens in book two, The grew up reading the mysteries of Ellery Queen and Agatha Christie as well as quite a few others When these greats died sadly it seemed there was no one to step up and take their place For quite a while it seems Hurrah, the vacuum is filled Catherine Leggit has stepped up to the plate and written a really dandy mystery worthy of the those greats from years ago Christine Sterling is lonely and bored and in dire need of human companionship So she takes to snooping to ease her need, however that all backs up in her face and gives her a somewhat less than stellar reputation Then she meets Lila where watching neighbors through basement windows can lead to some serious drama With a setting drawn from the author s surroundings and emotional turmoil from personal experience, the characters and situation take on the qualities of a believable tale of Payne Misery The main character, Christine Sterling, feels lost in retired life, unappreciated by her husband, and lonely but for the Bible thumping Christian down the street As we come to know Christine further we discover that she is in a situation typical of many retirees, however Christine is no stereotypical woman Her adventures range from breaking and entering to spying, and though sometimes done without finesse it s always effective in getting to the truth Payne Misery depicts the tribulation and torment of humanity, and the difference between those who live in it and those who choose live despite it.An important aspect of the novel is Christine s discovery of God s plan for her Since Christine has a murder mystery on her hands and she can t make the clues appear, she is forced to wait for God to reveal them It is a lesson on how patience for God trumps acting on human impulse. The plot is sound and the story, as well as the characters, are endearing Christine Sterling has just been introduced to us and her next adventure, The Dunn Deal, in April 2012 is sure to be just as inspiring `EBOOK ✓ Payne & Misery ↞
