I liked this better than the first one I think because there were less teams, which meant less character so they were easier to keep track of and you also got to know them better The twists and reveals really kept you guessing. An improvement from the first novel The action was much easier to follow andinteresting. Team.Blue is gone, there have been murders, killers on the loose Stakes are higher as new players are choose Secrets,,and they are young and inexperience, causing problems This gointo the player then the actual war game Intriguing of knowing what makes then a player. Better than the first book Fairly good twist too. empathizing or relating to the current characters loss of characters either dead or dying from book 1 So those deaths didn t impact me as much as they probably would have had I known these characters Grey Winter was very fast paced and it seemed like I was done with it in no time However I was a little disappointed because most of the book was about finding and training the new recruits for team blue and the tournament didn t actually take place in this book so that felt like a big let down However the author made up for it because even though the enemies of team blue weren t very featured there was an epic show down between them and team blue at the end and not everyone survived Some big twists in this book Some big deaths My favorite characters were Ellie and Ian Ian s character was so smart and quick that all his scenes were either somewhat intellectual or adventurous Ellie quickly grew on me as a captain She was never egotistical but still not really supportive of her team until the battle and she really became the captain for them I liked Tom and Cy but didn t like how Cy seemed closed off much of the time and Tom just really unsure of himself But like Ellie, after the battle, I think their characters will change This book really made me want to go back and read book one mostly because this book was so great and mostly because it really made me want to know what all the fuss about this tournement was actually about I have an idea that it s dangerous, deadly, and highly publicized but that s about it One orplayers are responsible for the murder of two of Team Blue not be as unknown as before, nor have the expected outcome. There seemed to beaction in this book, as the action moves between teams and our stolid insurance investigator accompanied by a Tournament courier Ian became alikeable character this time he was a bit of a blank slate in the first book, and he camealive in this one Ellie also has promise, although whether that will change as she becomes a fully fledged member of Team Blue remains to be seen There s also the intrigue of who committed the murders, and a couple of the characters I especially disliked got a certain amount of comeuppance this time.On to book 3 |DOWNLOAD PDF ♷ Grey Winter ⚖ Two players have been murdered Two killers are on the loose Nothing is what it seems The world is awake now The Tournament has captivated everyone, but no winner can be declared until the mystery of what happened to Team Blue is solved Meanwhile, three new players are chosen to rebuild the fallen team, but they are young and inexperienced, and instantly targeted Their survival is dependent upon their existence remaining a secret But in the Tournament, secrets are hard to keep New alliances are formed, old enemies are confronted, and the truth is finally revealed in Grey Winter, the second installment of the Tournament series All in all, I found this to be a great follow up to Blue Fall, which I quite enjoyed Good pacing, compelling new characters, great twist at the end I found the setting for the final show down to be really disturbing, given recent American history Maybe that was the point, but it felt a little tasteless I dunno All in all, a quick and enjoyable read, especially after slogging my way through the entire ASoIaF series I enjoyed the continuation of The Tournament series, with the introduction of the new Blue team it gives a peek into how the teams were formed with out relying on flashbacks I have one small complaint though Part of the story is set in Cheyenne, and while I don t mind fictionalizing a town, I would like the town to still be somewhat recognizable Other than that I really enjoyed the story. Grey Winter is an exciting follow up to Blue Fall, and excellent holiday reading If you want a techno thriller that keeps you coming back forthis is your book Griffith has created a vivid and enthralling world of high stakes, fast paced action and suspense, which like Frank Youngsmith, I don t want to leave Can t wait for the third installment Black Spring
