The Blue has a really interesting premise who hasn t dreamed of inheriting a bad ass spaceship and getting to travel across the universe Where it falls short is the execution I didn t hate the book, it was a good effort but there were definitely things that could have been cleaned up Alan Michael Wolf is the main character hero of the story and we meet him on his way home from Stellar Academy, from which he is on indefinite leave waiting for his spine to heal He s not an unlikable characte The Blue has a really interesting premise who hasn t dreamed of inheriting a bad ass spaceship and getting to travel across the universe Where it falls short is the execution I didn t hate the book, it was a good effort but there were definitely things that could have been cleaned up Alan Michael Wolf is the main character hero of the story and we meet him on his way home from Stellar Academy, from which he is on indefinite leave waiting for his spine to heal He s not an unlikable character but he was very rushed I never really felt like I cared what happened to him or anyone else actually, just because they came so quickly into the story The character dialogue was a bit stilted It felt awkward to read and not like something actual people would say I get that it s a space drama, but people will still act like people when we re exploring far away planets Within a couple of hours of meeting Alan, Useia former space assassin gives up her life of murder for hire and joins forces with him to search for his sister and afterwards, hopefully search for her own family The book itself was short, I read it in an afternoon, so there isn t too much to say about it I would say the book would benefit from a longer introduction, a time to get attached to Alan and maybe come to care about his family Give this book a read if you like space dramas, it s short enough that if you don t like it, it won t be too much wasted time The book is pretty predictable, the characters very one dimensional, but it also wasn t bad I give this book 2.5 out of 5 stars I see there s a sequel, but I doubt I ll check it out What s that old adage Good things come in small packages Well, this wonderful little book packs a big story One twist after another, coupled with believable and interesting characters and great dialog, adds up to one big adventure Almost hated to read the last linebut that was okay, I can seebooks in the future Can t wait to readfrom Stephanie Void &FREE PDF ☔ The Blue ↹ What would you do with a mysterious starship and a giant housecat Alan Michael Wolf is an ordinaryyear old boy from a backwater colony world whose only dream was to go to military school However, when he is sent home to recover from an injury, he finds himself stranded when he receives unthinkable news his home planet is gone Destroyed He is left with nothing until a chance encounter with an old man at a spaceport leaves him with three things a mysterious starship, a giant housecat, and the news that his younger sister Katelyn may still be alive Alan takes off across the galaxy in search of her but discovers the old man s ship may have led him to a big secret, one that will lead him to an even bigger truth about why his home planet was destroyed But there are forces out there who will hunt him down to make sure he is silenced before he can reveal the truth If you enjoyed the John Carter novels and Beth Revis Across the Universe, you will enjoy The Blue Also, there s a giant housecat
