Vainaptly titledI liked this series but didn t love itI had a hard time connecting with the characters I would ve liked to have dived into their relationship a littleNonetheless still a good read and especially since the series is so cheap. This series was better than I thought it would be so much so that i bought all Deborah Bladon books , and I ll read all of them Vain is simply a great light read There s no twists or turns or surprises that comes out of nowhere, but its a good read none the less.I first listen to Vain as an audio, and I really liked it, and many months later I tried to remember who the bad boy sexy photographer with the god like junk was, and the author Glad I found out that is was Vain by Deborah Bladon. They say the key to ensnare your readers from the very start is to have something that captures them, and Deborah certainly did that Vain is simply a great light read There s no twists or turns or surprises that comes out of nowhere, but its a good read none the less.I first listen to Vain as an audio, and I really liked it, and many months later I tried to remember who the bad boy sexy photographer with the god like junk was, and the author Glad I found out that is was Vain by Deborah Bladon. They say the key to ensnare your readers from the very start is to have something that captures them, and Deborah certainly did that with her very first sentence Your staring at my dick.Hey, what can I say I was hooked. The hero of the book is Noah, a bad boy who hires hookers that only are blue eyed with long blond hair, and when they go to his apartment, he decides to either fuck them, or photograph them It s either one or the other, but never both Enter the heroine, Alexa, who poses a dilemma, Noah wants both to photograph her and fuck her, when she lands at his door delivering sandwiches, of all things. The book is very much the title, vain, and maybe a little bitIt s about ones man pursuit of capturing perfection on film, and exhibiting his work Due to an experience that could have ended his life, and that of the woman he was in love with, he was left with knife woulds on his body and one that ran down his cheek He thought of himself as being perfect prior to the assault, but not any I chase perfection It s why I m the way I am Before this conversation I d absorb that statement as swollen arrogance but not now You want perfection because you don t think you ll ever be perfect I used to be He sounds distant I m not now No one isIn his convoluted, world famous photographer mind he may think he was once perfect, but that s simply not true Hasn t anyone ever told him that before I once was He stalls as his eyes scan my face I once was as perfect as you Noah is in self imposed home prison, because he cant face being in society with his marred appearance Then along comes Alexa, who knows nothing of Noah, his profession, and isn t that vain that she can t look beyond a scar, or empathise Alexa loves life, and isn t as self centred Slowly she coaxes him out of his penthouse apartment. The other vanity that comes into play is an emotional one Conflict and jealousy arises when it s found out that Alexa was intimate with Beck, Noah s longest and best friend. All in all, I loved the book, and I m likely to come back again to read Second time readingI read this story 3 years ago and it has haunted me and I finally broke down and read it again Noah Forester is unforgettable I was transfixed from the beginning to the end I thought Vain doesn t even come close to describing this guy Alexa makes you want to scream, say something, do something, you are better than this A great emotional rollercoaster ride I will read it a third time I am sure. ScarredAlexa is sent to deliver a sandwich when she meets her future There aren t clothing rules pertaining to a paying customer Alexa and the renowned photographer Noah Foster must work through problems. I liked Alexa and Noah s story, but I wish I heard it first. Interesting story, bit different from the norm Noah is really compelling I like when characters are flawed Really good read.
