An entertaining story introducing Miranda Carr With some nice banter between MIranda and her work partner Johnny Tomlin and between Miranda and her boss Caroline Gordon. Apt title How does she do it Yet another brilliant series and set of characters If I had one criticism, it would be the banter between the two senior officers got a bit too much in the middle But it eased off again later in the book. Mel Comley s newest police procedural series features DI Miranda Carr as the main character together with her partner Sergeant Johnny Tomlin and their chief Caroline Gordon Though this is just the first instalment, these characters already look very promising and are as interesting as Lorne Simpkins and her gang in the Justice series In this book Miranda has to solve a case involving the disappearance and probable murder of a famous millionairess Where is Anneka Morton She has vanished from Mel Comley s newest police procedural series features DI Miranda Carr as the main character together with her partner Sergeant Johnny Tomlin and their chief Caroline Gordon Though this is just the first instalment, these characters already look very promising and are as interesting as Lorne Simpkins and her gang in the Justice series In this book Miranda has to solve a case involving the disappearance and probable murder of a famous millionairess Where is Anneka Morton She has vanished from home and all that remains of her is a pool of blood in the bathroom Has she been kidnapped or is it too late for her Her distraught husband contacts the police Miranda s investigation takes her to Portugal There Miranda and Caroline are welcomed and assisted by a very odd Portuguese officer But are they really on the right track there or on the trail of a red herring, losing precious time in the process In the mean time, Miranda has also her wedding and her parent s problems to contend with I really enjoyed myself reading this book, particularly because of the sprinkle of paranormal added to the mixture I liked the way the police officers interact with each other The dialogue was very realistic and the ending a complete surprise for me I wasn t expecting things to turn the way they did Now, what s in store for Miranda Carr in the next book An easy quick read which is perfect when laying by the pool I do find the characters really similar in all this authors books, always lead female police inspectors that are the best in the force At less than 200 pages of your looking for a zero concentration easy read, this is the book. Having read the Justice series I was pretty sure I was going to like this book I was wrong I loved it As a visual reader who loves to see and feel the characters, this one was dead on Ms Comley gives you just enough description to allow you to follow the characters all the way to Portugal, but evenimportantly she gives you characters that mirror real life people I didn t see how any DI could measure up to Lorne Simpkins, but once again I was wrong.DI Miranda Carr immediately pulls y Having read the Justice series I was pretty sure I was going to like this book I was wrong I loved it As a visual reader who loves to see and feel the characters, this one was dead on Ms Comley gives you just enough description to allow you to follow the characters all the way to Portugal, but evenimportantly she gives you characters that mirror real life people I didn t see how any DI could measure up to Lorne Simpkins, but once again I was wrong.DI Miranda Carr immediately pulls you into not only a great story but one with an amazing twist at the end Her interaction with both her team and her boss makes you feel like you re in the room, watching, listening and getting to know not only how they investigate gruesome crimes, but also their friendships, real life problems, and gives you a glimpse of their wit and charm I loved the ghost As a paranormal investigator I have to say these scenes were truly well written.I once stated Dean Koontz was the master of descriptive writing as his scenes gave you a true visual of everything his characters were seeing I truly believe Mel Comley is a master of characterization, as she gives you multifaceted characters and true dialogue that makes you feel you re part of the conversation and makes each of them quickly become favorites.Great book and highly recommended Enjoyable book, just couldn t connect with the characters like I do with this authors other series Mel Comley 1st in series.Forever Watching You.Miranda Carr is a DI, with her partner Johnny They are investigating the death of a well to do make up entrepreneur The investigating takes Miranda and her boss Caroline to Portugal, this story is so well told and so easy to read you will fly through the book Miranda is seriously competition for the justice series Looking forward to next installment 5 stars 11 November 2014. Seemed to be dragged out with a lot of unnecessary dialogue and padding Not enough about other characters, especially the person who did it Would not recommend plenty of better books in the detective murder category.
