I felt this story started out strong and then sort of petered out Ethan s and Samantha are travelling to Italy on a ship at the same time when an unexpected wave pushes them overboard Eventually finding themselves washed up on an island in the Mediterranean, the overt is to survive long enough to be rescued Or fall in love Or both When help finally comes it is not your typical rescuers who provide assistance Of course there is political intrigue with the Home Office and under cover agents I felt this story started out strong and then sort of petered out Ethan s and Samantha are and Ethan were back in civilization that I felt the story lost momentum Yes there is a HEA, but having started as a 4 4.5 only ended as a 3 I received this book for free from eBook Discovery I voluntarily review this book This is my honest review I have to say, I ve read my fair share of historical romances and this is one of the few I ve read with a shipwrecked on an island theme I found the story to be well done, although from time to time I really questioned what the characters were doing And felt that it probably could have been edited down a bit A lot of what felt like unnecessary characters were introduced or had scenes that it got a touch overwhelming It s entirely possible that these folks were in book 1, but since I haven t I have to say, I ve read my fair share of double take with the pronunciation of some words, but that s probably a British vs American issue I did get a bit thrown by the special effect that happened during the internal musings of the characters, which happened a lot I found itdistracting than helpful. All in all, my first listen and read of a Linda Rae Sande book was a success and I ll most likely hunt outfrom her in the future safety of an island Samantha is very knowledgeable especially about the island they get stuck on thanks to her friend s brother They are able to survive and get back to society There is obviouslyto
