was pretty great though except her mom Being a mom myself I was pretty mad at her for not beingunderstanding and helpful with Cara s situation She had imprinted herself, so she of all people should have understood and beensupportive So I just wanted to smack her most of the time I loved Logan of course and can t wait to see what happens in the next book The Phoenix story is interesting and I would like to noin depth about why they are here What is their purpose I also wanted to know what happened to her dad Why did he die The bad guy was kind of elusive, but I thought I knew who it was I wasn t sure until the end though and so that was well written It did bother me that Cara chose to do something so significant with Logan knowing she would forget it when she died Wouldn t you want to remember that kind of thing It will be interesting to see where the story goes from here I m sure there are some very sad times coming for Logan I hope it doesn t last too long He deserves some loving I liked the blurb The story has potential, but it fell flat for me I think the whole story moves very slow which made it boring for this reader. #Read Pdf Û Into the Fire ⚟ In one month s time, seventeen year old Cara Tillman will die and be reborn from her own ashes Her life of secrecy has never been easy She s watched her younger brother, Jeremy, burn and rise again in a coming of age process called rebirth And just like her brother, when her time comes, she won t remember anything from her first life other than she s a Phoenix a member of a small group of people descended from the mythical Phoenix bird The last thing she needs to worry about is falling for the new guy in town Logan Schmidt Cara is drawn to Logan in a way she can t explain, but she s not exactly complaining Everything is perfectexcept it s not Once she s reborn, she ll forget Logan And to make things worse, a Phoenix Hunter is on the loose, and Cara s involvement with Logan is bringing out her Phoenix qualities the very qualities that will draw the Hunter right to her Desperate times call for desperate measures Afraid of hurting Logan, Cara breaks it off for good But her attraction to him runs deeper than a typical high school crush She wants him needs him And if he proves willing to stay by her side, their love might destroy them both Can Cara hide from the Phoenix Hunters long enough to survive her rebirth And if so, will it mean a new beginning with Logan or the beginning of the end This book was superb What a unique concept where the main character is a Phoenix I can honestly, hand on heart say I ve never read a story like it before Not just because of the plot line, but because of the beautifully crafted characters Each character, whether primary or secondary, were just as important to the story as each other Yes, Cara is our lead, but without the cast of supporting characters, you wouldn t have the same story And what a crying shame that would be Kelly Hashway cer This always leaves me yearning forI am having trouble waiting for book two to come out I m not impatient, per se, I just don t like to wait when I know a series is going to be as amazing as I know this one will be Kelly has a way of pulling me in to her stories and making me feel like there s a live action movie playing in my minds eye The way she shows you the story instead of just telling it, that s probably what I like the most about her Fans of YA, love stories and unique selling points, INTO THE FIRE is the book for you You ll fall in love, you ll laugh, shout at your kindle book and if you re anything like me, there ll be tears too Make sure you have tissues ready just in case Oh and if there s some tool to pry your heart out of your throat, grab one of those too So, let me tell you how cool it is that I got to read this as an ARC Kelly Hashway being so cool offered a contest for a few bloggers to help read ARCs and share the goodies I happened to win, and I am seriously STOKED that I got to read this one I must say, if you haven t read anything by her yet, you should She is a great writer, but THIS ONE, yeah this one has sealed the deal for me It s a wonderful new series starter writer, but THIS ONE, yeah this one has sealed the deal for me It s a wonderful new series starter and it s a fantastic plot line with some seriously cool twisting on the paranormal takes of the lore I loved loved LOVED the phoenix lore that the author has created And I never thought the bad guy was the bad guy until the almost end of the book I loved that We start with Cara, who is a phoenix, and so is her family And several town members But we begin with her watching her brother die and then be reborn There s a kick, when you are reborn, you forget everything And in her little freak out about her brother, she accidentally meets Logan who she imprints on Well imprinting is kind of like a mating, but not and but so LOL It s complicated, because you don t have to finish the imprint, you can chose to forget them But dude, I would NEVER want to forget Logan either It was fantastic because you get to see both Cara and Logan s POV Cara is a wonderful girl She seems like she was always the good girl, made the right choices, followed the rules, took care of everyone And Logan, he s a sweet boy, but he s going through a heart time with the tragedy in his life I don t understand his dad s issue where the hell is he all the damn time Seriously And Cara s her mother may be looking out for her best interests, but I hated her She went about it all the wrong way And she never helped herself It was madness And I loved the friends that surrounded Cara, and her brother Blake, and Logan s hilarious friend from NY And the reason I mention these people is because they don t know about phoenixes, other than her brother Yet, they still play a pretty big role in their lives Cara spends a serious amount of this book freaking out She is trying to deal with the fact that her brother doesn t remember her, her mother hates Logan, she s going to be reborn and forget Logan, oh oh and someone is killing off phoenixes around them I was seriously sad with the first murder because I really liked that character I also really liked Monique, and her very fun cafe And the hawt kisses But I am looking forward to seeinglore and back story about the phoenix lore and their ancestors I am fascinated with the writing The author definitely made me stick to every page I was dying to know what was going to happen And I am heartbroken at the ending Things are really serious And there is a cliff hanger so prepare yourself But dammit it s so awesome There s so much twisting and mystery and suspense so you won t be able to put this one down I am salivating to get my hands on book two and I am scorched by this one Gimme gimme I gotta know 5 FIERY PAWS I have been waiting for this book and this series for quite some time I heard about it years ago, in a previous iteration, and back before Kelly took off as a published author with her first series, TOUCH OF DEATH Needless to say, I had high expectations, and Kelly has delivered in flames of fire licking every page, scorching me with her characters of Cara and Logan, and singeing my fingertips as I turned each page Okay, I lied As I swiped each ePage I read an eCopy of the book You get the I have been waiting for this book and this series for quite some time I heard about it years ago, in a previous iteration, and back before Kelly took off as a published author with her first series, TOUCH OF DEATH Needless to say, I had high expectations, and Kelly has delivered in flames of fire licking every page, scorching me with her characters of Cara and Logan, and singeing my fingertips as I turned each page Okay, I lied As I swiped each ePage I read an eCopy of the book You get the idea.First of all, I loved that this book is written in alternating first person POV It s not an easy feat to pull off You have to know which character perspective to write from for each chapter, to best capture all of the tension for each point along the way Kelly did an amazing job with this, and I was delighted to see her pull off a convincing male character in Logan, among others. As I read, I got hooked and drawn into the story, and I didn t mind the excessive kissing all the time I might have flinched like the boy in Princess Bride, whose grandfather comes over to read him the story, and he asks glibly Is this a kissing book The answer is most definitely, YES.I loved the concept of the race of beings who appear human, but are actually descendants of Phoenixes I have a penchant for phoenixes, and dragons In fact, I ve got a tattoo on my right upper arm from my shoulder down to just above where my shirt sleeve ends above the elbow Sure, a glimpse flashes here and there, and I ve been asked about itthan once, but I love my tattoo of a dragon entwined with a phoenix, and the meaning I hope book 2 and 3 will explore the Phoenix lore a bitWhile it was referenced well, throughout the book, I did want , but I guess there wasn t much room because, you guessed it Kissing That s wayimportant, anyway.I found the traits of a phoenix, before first rebirth and beyond, fascinating Some traits are positives, like healing, and the shriek Other traits are not so great, like forgetting everything from your former life, and the fact that there are Hunters bent on stealing the life force or essence from a phoenix to gain prolonged life and eventual immortality This definitely raised the stakes when Phoenixes started going up in flames due to a Hunter on the loose. At the center of the story is Cara, who must face her first rebirth just when her life finally delivered the boy of her dreams, and she s convinced the premonition dream she keeps having holds the key to finding a way to avoid forgetting about the boy she can t stop kissing. The climax was horrific, and brought me right to the end, with a cliffhanger that left me begging for , despite the elevated heat scorching me with every flickering page This is a must read series for male and female readers alike I thoroughly enjoyed Kelly s characters and how her chapters are riddled with plot twists and huge stakes I have a few ideas where I think the next book will go, but I ll wait to discuss until after you ve all read your copies and told all your friends to get copies as well 5 out of 5 stars, or shrieking phoenixes, because, you know, phoenixes.Highly, highly recommended A must read 4.5 StarsInto the Fire is a wonderful young adult drawing a Hunter s attention.I was fortunately to have read the first version of Into the Fire, and much has improved in the republishing One being that there were little additions to certain portions of the novel that helped me piece together details, including basic lay out of the town, school, and falls Also, as a bonus, there is an extra chapter, which gives us a closer look into the relationship between Cara and her younger brother, Jeremy, as well as her connection with her phoenix heritage A wonderful concept which I felt could have been expanded through the novel.Unfortunately, the other purpose of the bonus chapter was to introduce a dead end clue to the mystery of who the Hunter might be The concept came full circle in the single chapter, making the attempt to include a littlemystery to the novel s plot seemingly pointless Also, I felt the chapter was placed a chapter or two too soon in the story s plotline The flow was disrupted, especially when it came to Cara s grief over her separation from Logan Another down side, in my opinion, was that I still feel a lot of the dialogue was too continuous and untagged In reality, people are usually doing something during a conversation walking, talking with hands, facial expressions, voice tones that it s hard for someone like me to read so much continuous dialogue I feel they are just standing there, no emotion or movement whatsoever.Despite that, Into the Fire is an amazing read And with its intense, heart wrenching ending, you ll want to read the sequel, Out of the Ashes, immediately little of the Lux series so if you re a fan of that then you should totally check out Into the Fire Our main character, Cara, is about to become a Phoenix she ll die and be reborn from her own ashes, giving her extra lives and unique abilities But in return she will lose her memories of her first life Its a high price, but a price she s always known she d have to pay But then she meets the new guy in town, Logan, and it changes her life completely And losing her memories in just a month s time becomes an even scarier thought I definitely felt for poor Cara, especially with her premonition dreams of her rebirthits like there is a clock constantly counting down to it But while Cara is our main character, there are a number of other characters that really make the story The secondary characters have such an important role to play that they don t feel like secondary characters at all One of my favourites was Jeremy He is Cara s brother, and has just gone through his own rebirth And can t remember anything about his life before it It was interesting, and sad, to see how he struggled to live up to the person he was before even though he didn t feel like that boy any And Mr Baker He was such a nice character There are a lot of plot twists in Into the Fire great plot twists Kelly keeps you guessing all the way through And as for the dreaded Hunter, I totally didn t guess who it was After that dramatic ending I can t wait to read the next book I haven t decided 4.5 or 5 yet VERY GOOD Killer ending Literally snorts
