This was an okay book that told a story about an X Men adventure in the Savage Land Honestly it reminded me of the 90 s cartoon with all the action in it It wasn t terrible but it would have been better as an episode of the show rather than a book. This novel is based on a comic book, and like comics and many text based book series, as well , it assumes you have knowledge of the characters going in My problem is that there is a big gap between the time I stopped reading comics and the point where this book begins There are some expository paragraphs scattered throughout, and I think I eventually got everything I needed to know but some of that required me to wait until I was almost done I wonder if that would have been true had I co This novel is based on a comic book, and like comics and many text based book series, as well , it Zar and his people defeat Sauron again I thought the friendship between Storm and Wolverine was written very well in this book the right mix of friendship comradeship and a tiny hint of flirtation which is what their relationship was always like I thought so anyway It was nice to see some lesser used characters such as Cannonball and Psylocke but I did have some issues with Psylocke i I really this time She s already with Archangel by the time this story is set and there s ever a hint that they might get married but that doesn t stop her actively flirting with Ka Zar even kissing him and feeling wistful about what might have been Apparently the fact that he was so determined to stay with wife is wife made himdesirable um there s a name actually there s several for women who go after married men like that I was surprised that Psylocke was written this way to be honest I think Beast had it right when he said I take back the term lady it does not apply On the plus side there was no Phoenix lording it over everyone in this story so that s always a plus in my opinion The only other bit that I wasn t keen on was Beast, Iceman and Cannonball sitting around in the swamp talking about past adventures back in the day you would have thought the situation required a biturgency but no lets tell stories The first half of the book was definitely 4 stars but the second half may have slipped down to 3.5 because things slow down a bit, some of the stronger x men get captured fairly easily and it becomes the Psylocke show Still worth reading though if you re a fan especially if you want to see some less common characters running the show This is a fun, albeit generic, adventure in the Savage Land a prehistoric, dinosaur infested area of Anarctica disguised by cloud cover Sauron, the hypnotic, energy vampire pterodactyl man, is up to his old tricks again, and it s up to Storm, Wolverine, Archangel, Psylocke, Beast, Iceman, and Cannonball alongside Ka Zar, Lord of the Savage that some of the X Men get captured and the rest try to rescue them, but it s well done overall, and also has a romantic sub plot with Archangel and Psylocke I wasn t aware of, as well as a neat, unexpected orgin story flashback from Lupo s point of view &Read Book ☠ X-Men: Law of the Jungle ☔ One of the X Men s oldest, deadliest foes, the energy stealing creature known as Sauron, has returned
